James Alers, Violin

James received his schooling at Longy School of Music of Bard College. He studied with Julliard graduate and Grammy nominated violinist, Jesse Mills. He has also studied with many prominent teachers such as Rictor Noren (former BSO) and David Siegal, a pupil of Eric Friedman, who was the great Jascha Heifetz' star student. 

       James works as a teacher for the Worcester Chamber Music Society “Neighborhood Strings” program. He also maintains a steady performing schedule, with orchestras such as the Keene Chamber Orchestra and Plymouth Philharmonic. James has held teaching contracts at Clark University and Assumption College. James is a devoted teacher at heart, and teaches private students in Worcester and neighboring towns. Aside from his musical life, James enjoys working on cars and occasional camping trips.
