Luke Morrissey, Cello and Bass

Luke began playing cello at age 10, he progressed quickly as a cellist performed as a soloist with his school orchestra at age 12. Luke holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, after graduating in 2018. While at the Boston Conservatory luke was principal cellist of the Boston Conservatory Orchestra Spectrum Project. In 2018 Luke was a member of the fellowship ensemble at Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music in Nelson, New Hampshire.

Currently, Luke runs his own private teaching studio and performs regularly as a cellist with local ensembles such as the Massachusetts Symphony. He is the cello coach for the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra and a string mentor at Neighborhood Strings, a community-based program of the Worcester Chamber Music Society that offers free string lessons to youth from Worcester’s Downtown and Main South neighborhoods.
