Megan Fedor, Violin, Viola, Guitar and Piano

Megan began playing the violin at age 8 after learning about the orchestra in school and nagging her parents for the better part of a year. Megan went on to study violin performance and music education at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, receiving her Bachelor of Music degree in 2011. Megan acted as concertmaster during her tenure at the university and spent a semester abroad playing in the Costa Rica National Symphony Orchestra.

After college, Megan’s interests turned toward teaching. Megan was a music teacher in the New York State public schools before moving to Cape Cod to teach music in a residential school for students with special needs. Moved by these students and a desire to affect greater change, Megan went on to attend Colorado State University to pursue a master’s degree in music therapy. Megan is currently finishing her degree by completing an internship as a music therapist in hospice. Megan has continued to have private students throughout her travels and career twists and turns.

Outside of music, Megan enjoys hiking, yoga, and eating breakfast food. If she is being lazy, you bet she’s curled up with her cat, Stella, and a good show or book.
